As part of regional SUPERTATA and global MenCare campaign, a capacity building seminar for Program P was held.
Status M held a three day seminar (28-30 September) titled MenCare – Engaging Men in Achieving Gender Equality in Međimurje County in partnership with the Institute of Public Health of the Međimurje County in Čakovec.
The seminar gathered 30 professionals from the Institute of Public Health of the Međimurje County, Centre for Social Welfare and Family Center Čakovec, Faculty of Teacher Education University of Zagreb – Čakovec Department, Health Center Čakovec, County Hospital Čakovec, Međimurje Police Department, Youth Council of the Town of Prelog, teachers from primary schools Pribislavec, Kuršanec, Ivanovec, Tomaš Goričanac from Mala Subotica and Macinec, as well as professors from the High School of Civil Engineering, Technical High School and High School of Economics and Trade.
The seminar was held by Mr. John Crownover – Program Advisor at CARE International and long-time associate of Status M with experience of working on Program M (program for working with young men) and program P (program for working with fathers) in the Western Balkans.
During the three-day seminar, topics of the Manual P – A Manual for Engaging Men in Fatherhood, Caregiving and Maternal and Child Health were presented: by implementing activities, participants had the opportunity to gain insight into the program contents and design actions for working in their communities.
Next steps of SUPERTATA campaign in Međimurje will be informing the community and working directly with beneficiaries.
The project is carried out using grants of the Kingdom of Norway and EEA countries, and coordinated by the National Foundation for Civil Society Development.
