Campaign “React as Human – Against Violence”

3 Tetor, 2015 Rajonale dhe Ndërkombtare

The International Day of Non-Violence is marked on 2nd of October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement and pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence.

Today CARE International Balkans and its partners from Albania, Kosovo, Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina launch a bystander intervention campaign as part of its efforts to address gender base violence, sexual harassment and peer related violence. As part of the regional program Boys and Men as Allies in Violence Prevention and Gender Transformation in the Western Balkans supported by Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and OAK Foundation and the project Promoting Healthier Lifestyles Among Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Challenging Gender Stereotypes supported by Swiss Government, ADA and OAK Foundation, CARE and its partners are mobilizing thousands of young people to “react” in positive and safe ways to address violence in their everyday lives.

The campaign in English is “React as Human” – “Against Violence” with the goal to engage our common humanity to address gender inequalities and violence in schools, at home and the wider community. Stay tuned for photos from the launch in the coming days.
