In 2020 we still continue to promote healthy lifestyles…

It is the healthy lifestyles and the culture of dialogue that united students from 16 Banja Luka secondary schools. The Youth Center was filled to capacity on Monday, March 9, 2020. Over 100 young people with their professors, school counsellors, psychologists and social workers attended an interactive lecture and workshop created according to the “Manual Y”, which was the main methodological basis for the implementation of the project entitled “By culture of dialogue to healthy living habits“. In addition to lectures and workshops on healthy lifestyles, students had the opportunity to learn the basics of the debate, as well as to try out as an affirmative or negative team by discussing topics from the “Manual Y“. After the students have been educated in the previous three cycles of education, the next phase of the project is the shooting and TV broadcasting of debate shows titled “ChEtroom“.

The project is being implemented by the “Perpetuum mobile – Institute for Youth and Community Development” Banja Luka within the Regional Program on Local Democracy in the Western Balkans (ReLOaD), funded by European Union and supported by the United Nations Development Program.

The “Manual Y” was created as part of the project “Young Men Initiative” and adapted for the training of professionals and all those working with young people with the aim of better and more successful promotion of gender equality and healthy lifestyles for young men and women by challenging, analyzing and deconstructing existing gender norms and stereotypes, and in 2017 the manual received the European “GENE” Award for initiatives that promote positive changes (one of the 10 best non-formal education manuals in Europe).

The activity was implemented within the project Young Men Initiative II (YMI II): “Promoting Healthier Lifestyles among Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Challenging Gender Stereotypes II” and the project: “Men and Boys as Partners in Promoting Gender Equality and the Prevention of Youth Extremism and Violence in the Western Balkans”, supported by the Government of Switzerland, OAK Foundation, Austrian Development Agency and CARE International Balkans.
