CARE’s partner organization Youth Power from Mostar, together with members of the Be a Man Club Mostar organized the activity 8th March – on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, with the aim to demonstrate the success and achievements of women throughout history.
The activity took place on the streets of the city of Mostar in the morning and in the afternoon, where the members of the Be a Man Club took pictures with passersby and distributed messages with the achievements of women throughout history. In addition to women from all over the world, great attention was also dedicated to women from Bosnia and Herzegovina who left a great mark in their work and who, through history, have always been a step ahead of their time and made great changes in the society through their work and dedication. Also, they distributed information brochures to passersby containing information about what the International Women’s Day is, how the International Women’s Day originated, and the history behind it.
In addition to this activity, the non-governmental organization Youth Power and Be a Man Club, as part of the activities of the organization, will organize activities in the promotion of the rights and achievements of women in cooperation with secondary schools.
This activity was implemented as part of the project “Promoting Healthier Lifestyles among Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Challenging Gender Stereotypes”. This project is supported by the Swiss Government and the OAK Foundation and implemented with the support of CARE International Balkans.
