Online Program Y Workshops in Crisis

April 30, 2020 News

Due to the coronavirus crisis and the social distancing measures, Center E8 has decided to move Program Y workshops from classrooms to the virtual world.

Using the Zoom platform and enthusiasm, we have adapted more than 20 relevant workshops to the online form. Since 21st of April, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at 6 pm, the participants have a chance to be a part of the Program Y educational process.

The idea is to fulfill the long quarantine hours with educational and useful content, and to offer knowledge and skills helpful in any situation, especially difficult one. That’s why the chosen workshops are dedicated to feelings, expectations, emotional wellbeing, but also ones focused on the problems of violence and unequal distribution of power in relationships. This situation is limiting in many ways, but we have recognized a unique opportunity to make Program Y educational tools available for more young people who are interested and motivated.

Workshops are led by Center E8’s experienced and educated trainers who are making an extra effort to motivate the participants, guide the discussion and to share valuable information. So far, Center E8 had conducted 4 online workshops with nearly hundred participants. The schedule of the workshops and application forms are available on the Center E8 website.

The activity is implemented by Center E8 within the framework of the Young Men Initiative II – The Men and Boys as Partners in Promoting Gender Equality and prevention of Youth Extremism and Violence in the Balkans project, supported by CARE International Balkans, Austrian Developing Cooperation and Oak Foundation.
