Youth Power, CARE partner organization, organized two parallel events on Vlašić from 26th–28th February 2020 in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the Institute for Education Mostar and the Pedagogical Institute Mostar.
The first event focused on creating campaigns together with students from eight secondary schools we work with in the area of our Canton. The second event was directed towards working with school counselors, where expert associates and advisors spoke on behalf of our partner institutions about the general management of educational workshops and activities conducted in schools.
An important outcome of these two parallel events that we have organized are the fully-fledged plans for conducting youth engagement campaigns to promote healthier lifestyles and prevent gender-based violence. Students from our eight partner secondary schools have created three campaigns that will be implemented at the level of all participating schools with which we conduct activities within the Young Men Initiative program.
The first campaign will be conducted on the occasion of International Women’s Day and students, together with Youth Power project staff, are working hurriedly to prepare all the details about the campaign itself.
The activity was implemented as part of the project YMI – Young Men Initiative II: “Promoting Healthier Lifestyle among Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Challenging Gender Stereotypes II”, supported by the Government of Switzerland, OAK Foundation, Austrian Development Agency and CARE International Bosnia and Herzegovina.
