From November 18 to 20, 2025, a professional consultation was held on Trebević with pedagogues from six partner secondary schools, aiming to strengthen capacities for implementing peer education, preventive activities, and the promotion of gender equality in schools. During the three-day gathering, participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss challenges from practice, and jointly develop a work plan to be implemented in their schools in the coming period.

Discussions focused on the importance of peer education, its role in empowering young people, and the criteria for selecting students to take on the role of educators. Particular emphasis was placed on motivating less active students and designing methods that encourage their participation and contribution. Participants highlighted that proper preparation of educators, clear division of roles, and continuous support significantly impact the quality and sustainability of activities.

It was agreed that an initial survey on students’ attitudes and needs would be conducted from December 1 to 25 in three classes of first- and second-year students, serving as the basis for all subsequent activities. A plan was also established for training peer educators, which will take place in February 2026, while students from the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Džemal Bijedić in Mostar, will conduct the workshop “What Do We Mean by Gender” in December as part of their practical school training.

A large part of the consultation was dedicated to preparing the “16 Days of Activism” campaign, which all partner schools will implement through short activities focused on gender-related topics, raising awareness about violence, especially violence against women and femicide. Students will have the opportunity to create educational memes to be shared via the Budi Muško Klub profiles, and posters with important information on procedures in cases of violence and available support services will be displayed in schools. At the same time, the campaign will promote youth participation in Budi Muško Klub, with the first meeting scheduled for December 4, 2025.

Pedagogues also worked together on developing educational workshops to be conducted in schools, analyzing the advantages of existing approaches and designing ways to further adapt content to students. Opportunities for new joint projects and long-term collaboration among schools were also considered.

The consultation concluded with a clear message: quality peer education and open dialogue are key components of creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. The established plans and agreed steps provide a strong foundation for continuing work on important topics and improving school programs in the upcoming period.

This activity was carried out as part of the Future4Youth project, implemented by Spin in cooperation with CARE Balkans and funded by the Marie Eberth Stiftung Foundation.
