CARE partner organization, Youth Power, organized the second training for peer educators from eight high schools in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton in the period from 24-26 October 2018. The three-day training was held in the premises of the Center for Culture Mostar, where high school students gained additional knowledge and skills about how to educate their peers on topics of violence and violence prevention.
At this training, more intensive work was conducted on educating peer educators because starting from this year they would begin to conduct workshops on the topics of violence and promoting healthier lifestyles in their schools. During the second round of the training, the educators prepared five new educational workshops that would be implemented during this school year.
Young men and women had the opportunity to learn what peer education was, and what its positive and negative sides were. They gained knowledge of what the Program Youth was (model by which peer workshops are conducted) and learned about public appearance skills that were necessary for the successful execution of workshops in schools.
During the second and third day of the training, with the help of trainers, the educators had the opportunity to conduct simulations of workshops that would be implemented in their schools.
