Under the framework of Women’s International Day, Center ACT for SOCIETY organized the “Kick-off” event at “Ismail Qemali” high school.
The main purpose of this activity was to introduce the project “The Men and Boys as Partners in Promoting Gender Equality and prevention of Youth Extremism and Violence in the Balkans Project” among different stakeholders. In this activity, there were about 110 participants, involving: teachers, youth club members, high school students, headmaster of the school.
Parts of this activity were also the representatives of civil society organizations, the president of National Youth Congress in Albania Mr. Dritan Sakuta and the Executive Director of Youth Voice Network Mr. Andi Rabiaj. Mr. Haber Habertheuer from Austrian Development Agency in Albania was also part of this activity where he said that it was very important for him to see how young people can contribute to change something.
During this event, we presented the project in details giving the emphasis on collaboration and involvement opportunities. At the end of the activity, some of our talented Youth Club Members presented a poem for the protection of women’s rights and choreography on violence against women. Interesting products of this activity were the flipcharts prepared by the youngsters where the history of the feminist movement was presented. This activity resulted to be quite successful in terms of raising the interest of teachers in particular.
