The meeting of the Steering Committee of the project “Young Men Initiative – Promoting Healthier Lifestyles Among Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Challenging Gender Stereotypes”, supported by the Swiss Government and the OAK Foundation and implemented with the support of CARE International Balkans was held today.
The results achieved on the project in the past year and a half were presented at the meeting that was attended by the Minister of Education and Culture in the Government of the Republic of Srpska, Dr. Dane Malešević, Academician Prof. Dr. Drago Branković, Deputy Minister Radmila Kocić Ćućić and Head of the Department of Secondary Education Sanela Kostrešević, as well as representatives of the main partner organizations Perpetuum Mobile from Banja Luka, Association XY from Sarajevo and Youth Power from Mostar. We presented the manual and curriculum of life skills for educators in secondary schools entitled “Program Y – Youth – Innovative Approaches in GBV Prevention and Young Boys and Girls Healthy Life Styles Promotion.”
One of the main goals of the project is that the relevant ministries in BiH include the Program Y into the secondary schools’ curriculum in the manner prescribed by the regulations for extracurricular work and extracurricular activities and other educational activities, standards and projects, according to the instructions for the implementation of educational standards in BiH.
