On 13th and 14th October 2015 the Institute Perpetuum Mobile in cooperation with Care International Balkans organized the Counseling for teaching staff of secondary schools on the role of young men in preventing violence.

The counseling is conducted within the project “Young Men Initiative – Promoting Healthier Lifestyles Among Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Challenging Gender Stereotypes” and “Young Men Initiative – Boys and Men as Allies in Violence Prevention and Gender Transformation in the Western Balkans” supported by the Swiss Government, Austrian Development Cooperation, OAK Foundation and CARE Germany-Luxembourg.

The counseling is intended for the teaching staff employed in secondary schools in Banja Luka. The program provides the basics on the methodology of preventing gender-based violence in the work with the young men as well as examples of good practice that can be applied to the regular school program. The conclusions of the Counseling were that this approach to working with young people should also be applied by the teaching staff, who expressed a desire for additional education and implementation of workshops in secondary schools.
