Program M: Training for the prevention of violence for school staff

May 11, 2015 Regional and International

Our accredited seminar for school staff titled “Program M: Training for the prevention of violence”, was held on 9 and 10 May 2015 in the premises of the grammar school St. Sava.

There was a great interest among the teachers and professional associates, so the seminar was attended by 27 participants from the Agricultural High School PKB, grammar school St. Sava, XIII grammar school and Information Technology high school.

“Program M: Training for the prevention of violence” seminar was created during the implementation of the project “Young Men as Allies in the Prevention of Conflicts and Violence in the Western Balkans” in cooperation between Centre E8, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and CARE International. During the implementation of the project educational model and appropriate methodology of work with young men were developed. Violence is one of the major problems in our society and it is, unfortunately, notably present in schools. The training of teachers and professional associates is an important segment for solving this problem because its solving should involve as many members of our society as possible, and school staff certainly has a significant influence on young people.

Activities of the “Be a Man” program in schools are conducted by the Centre E8 and supported by the CARE International Balkans, Austrian Development Cooperation and the OAK Foundation.
